For my project, I chose a beautiful 2.5\” rolie polie precut from Riley Blake Designs called \”Chatsworth\” by Emily Taylor. I had been eyeing this fabric online for a while, but I had not seen it in person. Let me tell you, when it arrived . . . I was not disappointed. It is a beautiful line with rich colors and gorgeous patterns. It somehow has the perfect mix of traditional and modern that makes it a refreshing line to work with. When I showed the fabric to my daughter, she looked at it and said, \”Wow Mom, I love this! This fabric is really . . . stylish!\” I knew just what she meant and I agreed wholeheartedly.
I decided to make the smallest quilt in the pattern, which measures at 40 1/2\” by 40 1/2\” and uses less than one rolie polie. It was a speedy quilt to put together, but it has such an impact! The quilt is hanging above the fireplace in our living room. I think it brings a sophisticated spring feeling into the room! The soft swirly quilting was done by Barb at Quilts on Broadway, my friend and local quilt shop owner.
The lovely people at the Fat Quarter Shop have made up their sample using \”Vintage Picnic\” by Bonnie & Camille for Moda. It is so darling and they are offering a kit in those fabrics! Here are some links to get you started:
