The smaller pillow (12″ x 16″) is a free tutorial on my blog: Romantic Patchwork Pillow. I sent my sister Stacy and niece Madison on a mission to find some vintage trims at a local antique store. (Thanks girls!) They hit the jackpot when they found a pillowcase with this lovely scalloped detail. I love being able to incorporate vintage trims into modern pieces. This patchwork pillow is the perfect project for fussy cutting the happy little characters in Tasha\’s collection!
As you can see, I may have gotten a little carried away with the button details, but once I started I couldn’t stop. I like the dimension and interest they add. The buttons are from the Lori Holt “Cute Little Buttons” collection.
The larger pillow (24″ x 24″) is the “Cute Cups Cushion” pattern from Lori Holt’s book Quilty Fun published by It’s Sew Emma. These mugs are the perfect size to show off Tasha’s sweet prints. I wish I had a special reading nook or window seat in my kitchen. I can just imagine this plump cushion resting near some holiday books along with a cup of cocoa, can’t you?
Just look at those darling long stockings, snow globes and lacey detail around the mistletoe. I love how those images pop off of that navy blue background!
Both pillows are constructed with a simple envelope back closure and quilt style binding. My binding fabric is a Riley Blake basic gingham in red. It’s the perfect complement to Tasha’s line! I also used Riley Blake’s Swiss dot in red for the backing of the small pillow.
Sincere thank you to Tasha Noel and Riley Blake Designs for including me in this blog tour! Readers, I know you will love this line . . . it’s even more darling in person! Several of my blog sponsors are carrying Pixie Noel, so I sure hope you will visit one of these stores:
Thanks for stopping by the blog today! I hope you will check out all of the other bloggers who are sharing their makes on this tour. (Please see the list below!) I can’t wait to see what everyone has created.
