A few weeks ago the kind folks at Stash Addict Quilts asked if I’d like to try a Bloc Loc Half Square Triangle Ruler and share my experience with you. Umm . . . YES, thank you very much! I’ve wanted to try a Bloc Loc for quite some time. As luck would have it, I had a new project in the works made up of 3 1/2” half square triangles. What perfect timing!
Stash Addict Quilts shipped me the ruler, and I spent a very happy Saturday playing with my new toy. This is just a peek of some of the half square triangles I squared up using the Bloc Loc ruler.
If you are unfamiliar with these rulers, they have a special channel on the back side that allows the ruler to easily snug up against a pressed seam, which keeps the ruler from slipping while cutting.
I used the Bloc Loc in conjunction with my Sue Daley Designs rotating cutting mat which I purchased from Stash Addict Quilts. Together, these tools make squaring up your half square triangles a breeze! Just snug your Bloc Loc ruler up to the seam, trim two sides, continue holding the ruler in place, rotate the mat, and trim two more sides.
As an added bonus, I was able to use my 3 1/2” Bloc Loc to fussy cut several 3 1/2” squares for the same project! (I will be sharing this sweet finished quilt in a couple of weeks on a blog hop with Riley Blake Designs!)
Wouldn’t you love to add a Bloc Loc to your collection of rulers? Well thanks to the generous folks at Stash Addict Quilts, we are giving away one 3 1/2\” Bloc Loc Half Square Triangle Square Up Ruler!

I've been eyeing these for some time, but resisted because I have such a lot of rulers already. They look like they'd made a tedious task much easier though. Rabbitcreekquilter at hotmail dot com
I would love to have this ruler as I have a \”slip-age\” problem with my old worn hands. It hurts to put pressure on rulers and they slip when I am cutting fabric. But I still keep cutting and quilting, just slower.
Wow, one of these \”cool tools\” would be so helpful in making my 1/2 sq. triangles! They are something I seem to make constantly……..Thanks so much for the chance.nettiecrain@live.com
