Today is my stop on the Bunnies & Cream Blog tour, and I’m so excited to show you my projects. This debut collection by Lauren Nash (Transient Art) for Penny Rose Fabrics stole my sewing heart immediately. The darling little bunnies baking treats with their mother reminded me of cherished picture books from my own childhood.
Lauren’s collection includes darling recipe panels. What a sweet idea! “Glazed Lemon Poppyseed Cookies.” My Grandma Audrey loved all things lemon. This sounds just like something that would have been in her recipe box.
There are so many delicious details in this collection, that I really enjoyed just looking at the fabric. Eventually I got to “work.” I made two projects for my stop on the tour: an hourglass baby quilt and coordinating pillow.
For the pillow, I used Lori Holt’s
Scrappy Happy Hearts mini tutorial that I discovered while joining her Farm Girl Vintage Sew Along. Lauren’s ginghams and prints pair up so nicely to make these dainty little hearts that comprise the center panel of the pillow. I bordered the mini hearts with the pink gingham, and added left and right side borders of the fun mint print.
Next I embellished my pillow with a crisp white crocheted lace trim and buttons from my Grandma Audrey’s button jar. Just look at the sweet (pun intended) detail in Lauren’s designs ~ a scrumptious little donut here ~ and in the next photo a pretty little cake in a glass cake plate. I can just imagine a young child enjoying all of the details while wrapped up in a quilt of Bunnies & Cream!
I bound the pillow using the green gingham. If you’ve never bound a pillow before, you should give it a try. It\’s the same technique as binding a little quilt, and it creates such a nice finishing touch!
My hourglass quilt is comprised of 36 hourglass blocks featuring Lauren’s pink, mint green and blue prints and coordinating ginghams. I love the timeless look of an hourglass block. This little quilt was a snap to put together and will make a nice baby quilt at 36″ x 36″. I didn’t use a pattern, and I didn’t have time to write up a tutorial. I hope you will forgive me. I was just a bit busy cutting, sewing, quilting and binding. I will try to add a tutorial to my to-do list!
If you follow my blog, you know that in February I released a new pattern featuring Bunnies & Cream. It’s called
Shoofly Crossing. This 57″ x 57″ lap quilt or child’s quilt was designed to showcase Lauren’s darling bunny prints.
The main blocks are visually connected by small inner shoofly blocks, creating a whimsical design. Please visit my Shoofly Crossing blog post to learn more about this pattern. Several of my blog sponsors are carrying this pattern and some have Bunnies & Cream kits available as well!
Sincere thanks to Lauren and Penny Rose Fabrics for including me on this blog tour. Bunnies & Cream fabric was a joy to sew.
And thank you all for stopping by the blog today! I hope you get carried away with some sweet quilting of your own! In the meantime, please be sure to stop and visit these other talented bloggers who have made beautiful projects with Lauren\’s collection. Here\’s the schedule:

Me han encantado las telas y tu trabajo con ellas. Podrías decirme donde puedo conseguir esas telas? y el patrón para hacer la colcha de bebe igual a la tuya. Es una preciosidad. Espero tus noticias. Muchas gracias.
Hi! We love this! Do you still have the fabric available for purchase?
