Hello quilting friends! I\’m popping in today with my Release 2 block for the 2020 Bloom-Topia quilt along with Fat Quarter Shop. Isn’t she a dandy? This block is called Carolina Lily. It finishes at 18 1/2″ x 20 1/2″ and is a snap to make.
If you read my last post, you’ll know that I am honored to be one of the guest bloggers for this charity quilt along which benefits Make-A-Wish. The sweet folks at Fat Quarter Shop were kind enough to send the original Bloom-Topia quilt out on a road trip, visiting some of the guest bloggers. Bloom-Topia was at my house last weekend, so I snapped a few pictures for you. This quilt is even more lovely in person, and I enjoyed the sunshine it brought to our guest room.
I am sewing my own version of Bloom-Topia featuring the earthy Harvest Road collection by Lella Boutique for Moda. For the Carolina Lilly block, I also pulled in the taupe gingham from Lella Boutique’s earlier collection, Farmer’s Daughter. I have just a tiny bit of that gingham print left in my stash.
