Juniper & Jolly on chambray

Recently I introduced two new holiday mini patterns: Juniper & Jolly. These 18 1/2” cuties can be made into festive pillows or wall hangings. I’m excited to display my finished pillows this Christmas season, but I was curious to see how they might look with a denim background. So, I spent a few happy hours sewing together another Juniper and another Jolly. If I can get them quilted in a jiffy, they will make great gifts!

Both of these tops were made using Moda’s Indigo Chambray (12051 13) for the background, along with pretty scraps I had saved from past projects. The greens you see are from Sweetwater’s Merry Starts Here collection. The reds are from Janet Clare’s Wintertide collection. The fussy cut “Joy” is from Sweetwater’s Overnight Delivery collection.  I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, save those scraps!

I find a lot of joy in sewing quick and easy projects from my stash.  It’s a creative outlet and stress reliever. As the busy holiday season draws near, I hope you find time to sneak away to your sewing room and have fun with fabric and thread!

Don’t forget to check out my free tutorials page for more fun projects you can stitch up in no time. Thanks for stopping by, quilting friends.  Take care!

  1. Love them on denim and white. White is very festive, but the denim feels so cozy and ready to ‘use’ :)!

    1. Thanks Susan! Wintertide is one of those lines I only knew about months after it was released, when I purchased a kit from Sweet Treasures Quilts. I just love that line!
