Hello quilting friends! It’s almost September, which means I can begin decorating for autumn soon. I always try to wait for that calendar page to turn before I bring out the fall favorites. Isn’t it hard to be patient? I recently purchased a new autumn wreath which I’d like to display somewhere in my kitchen. That of course prompted me to pull out just one quilted runner, Pumpkin Run, to see how they might play together.
Pumpkin Run can be arranged so that the blocks are vertical (as in my sample) or horizontal. A vertical runner can be displayed on a skinny wall space, a quilt ladder or even a chair back. If you want to display your runner on your autumn tablescape, I’d suggest turning the pumpkins so that they run horizontally. I really like the chair back display for my vertical runner. In our previous house, I display Pumpkin Run on this chair in the corner of our dining room. I can’t find that cute pillow anymore. I think maybe my mom took off with him!
Pumpkin Run finishes at 34 1/2” long by 12 1/2” wide. It’s so quick and fun, you could probably whip one together in a day. The fabric requirements are minimal. You might have everything you need to get started, right there in your stash!

The black, neutral and binding are from Midnight Magic II by April Rosenthal. The black sashing is from Low Volume Wovens by Jen Kingwell.
