The Quilted Snowman} Various snow blocks

It’s been a little over a month since I’ve had time to work on my Quilted Snowman, and I sure have missed it! This project is such a cheerful and creative sewing outlet. I enjoy auditioning just the right fabric for each block and watching the Snowman come to life on my design wall. This weekend I worked on the top right section, which includes three Whirling Snowflake blocks, four Snowball blocks, and one Shimmering Snowflake block.

I have made all of the remaining Snowball, Whirling Snowflake and Glitter Star blocks. They are just awaiting placement in the final two sections – the trees! I am so excited to work on those sections, which Lori has named the Merry Stick Pine and the Tall Evergreen Tree.

In this photo you can see the spot where the shorter tree, the Merry Stick Pin, will be placed just under the Snowman’s mitten. The Tall Evergreen Tree will be placed on the right, the full length of the quilt. Yes, I will officially run out of room on my design wall! (The Quilted Snowman top finishes at 87.5″ x 97.5″.)

I am nearing the end of the Quilted Snowman journey. It has been an absolute joy.  I would enthusiastically recommend this project to anyone! The pattern by Lori Holt and It’s Sew Emma is clear, detailed, accurate and easy to follow, even for someone like me who was sewing from their stash! If sewing from your stash isn’t your jam, Fat Quarter Shop still has kits available, featuring Lori’s Home Town Holiday collection.

Once again, I will share some links that may be helpful to you. Thanks for stopping by!
