Fat Quarter Flourish for summer entertaining

Hello quilting friends! Do you remember the beachy Stars & Stripes quilt top I finished recently, where I combined sky blue prints from Brenda Riddle’s new Sweet Liberty collection with a pinky-red woven fabric? The end result was a brand-new quilt top that had a timeworn, much-loved look. I was so pleased with how it turned out, that I pulled some of the scraps from that project and put them to good use. I stitched up a beachy version of my Fat Quarter Flourish pattern!

Have you made Fat Quarter Flourish yet? This is such a fun and versatile pattern. As the name would suggest, all you need are few fat quarters (five to be exact) and you can whip it up in no time. Fat Quarter Flourish finishes at 20 ½” square. Use it as a table topper, a wall hanging, or even an oversized pillow!

I plan to quilt this little piece myself with some simple straight-line quilting. I hope to get it done quickly, so that I can use beachy Fat Quarter Flourish for summer entertaining. Can’t you just picture it on a picnic buffet with a bowl of strawberries or watermelon? Honestly, I need to use my little quilts more and not worry about them getting dirty or spilled on. Maybe that will be my goal going forward!
