9-Patch Pivot: a Christmas top completed

Hello quilting friends! Over the weekend I finished my 9-Patch Pivot quilt top, and I just had to share some photos.

This marks my third time sewing up this versatile pattern, but it’s the first time I’ve used holiday fabrics. I chose the gorgeous Christmas Eve collection by Lella Boutique for Moda. This truly is a magical collection.

I love sewing in season, don’t you? While it’s wise to work on Christmas quilts in the summer so that we can have them quilted and bound before December rolls around, there’s something very satisfying about sewing with Christmas fabric during the winter.  The decorations . . . the music . . . the twinkle lights . . . the lightly falling snow. They all provide a wonderful backdrop as we piece that red and green fabric.

There’s also something gratifying about knowing that next year I will have a pretty new Christmas quilt ready to gift or to use. I can be patient. It will be worth the wait.

It’s my sincere hope that each of you have a wonderful Christmas, and that the days leading up to it are low on stress and abundant on blessings.

Merry Christmas to you!
