Mission accomplished at quilt retreat! If you read my last post, you know that I was preparing projects for my annual quilting weekend with friends. I’m pleased to say that we had a lot of fun and the sewing machines got a workout. It’s so good to get away and sew with friends!
I’m not ready to show you any sneak peeks from my new pattern that I was testing (Frosty Forest), but I am tickled to show you my finished patriotic table runner, Starry Way. It turned out so cute.
Prior to last year, I did not have much in the way of patriotic quilts or table runners, but I am well on my way to having a festive collection now! Here’s a shot of them all together:
- Stars & Stripes (quilt – pattern by Thimbleblossoms)
- Simply Starry (pillow – free tutorial)
- Fat Quarter Flourish (mini quilt – pattern available on my Etsy shop)
- Starry Way (table runner – pattern available on my Etsy shop)
Clearly, I love a “beachy” vibe when it comes to the old red, white and blue. Most of the fabrics you see are from Brenda Riddle’s Sweet Liberty collection, but there are other prints thrown in from my stash as well.
While I sewed from my stash, the Starry Way pattern is written as a charm-pack friendly pattern. If you’d like to go that route, I found several red/white/blue charm packs that could be the starting point for your version of Starry Way.
- American Beauty (Dani Mogstad)
- American Gatherings II (by Primitive Gatherings)
- All American (Deb Strain)
- Land of the Brave (My Mind’s Eye)
- Old Glory (Lella Boutique)
- Portsmouth (Amy Smart)
- Red White and True (Dani Mogstad)
- Stateside (Sweetwater)
- Sweet Freedom (Beverly McCullough)
I need to get Starry Way quilted so she’s ready to go for some summertime entertaining. If you’re interested in making this fun project, Starry Way is available as a PDF pattern on my Etsy Shop.
Thanks for stopping by! Have a great day!
