Hello quilting friends! I’m popping in today to share a recent finish, my pink and taupe version of Floating Squares, which is a free pattern available here on my blog! Floating Squares is my take on a traditional economy block pattern. The pattern is beginner friendly and includes lots of tips to ensure success.

I decided that the machine quilting should be just as sweet as the darling fabrics, so I chose a panto called Ginger Heart. Once again Katy at Woods Edge Quilting worked her magic. Although I didn’t photograph this quilt in my sewing room (the lighting for photography in that room can be tricky), that is where this quilt will reside. I plan to throw it over the old lazy boy that sits across from my sewing room. When my husband ventures down to sit for a spell, he’ll be covered in pure sweetness. Thankfully, he doesn’t really care what the color scheme is for a quilt, as long as it’s big and cozy!
