I’ll share the quilt along details next, but first I want to introduce Ellie. She’s a seventh grade student in my home town, and she has been sewing since she was eight years old. Ellie made her first solo quilt this past summer and since then has made several lovely quilts for her grandmothers, her brother, her mom and her friends. I’m not sure how she finds the time, as she’s also a talented athlete and participates in school musicals! Ellie is one of those people who will continue to make a positive and creative mark on the world. Lucky me, I will be able to say I rubbed elbows with her in my sewing room! Both Ellie and I are participating in the Crossroads Quilt Along, and I will be a guest blogger for the Fat Quarter Shop. I hope you will follow along on our journey.
The Crossroads Quilt Along features a timeless, vintage-inspired quilt pattern designed by Joanna Figueroa of Fig Tree and Company. The Fat Quarter Shop is hosting the quilt along which will benefit the March of Dimes.
The program starts in February and ends in September. On the 15th of each month, the Fat Quarter Shop will post that month’s pattern on their blog as a free digital download. They ask that you donate $5 to the March of Dimes for each pattern you download. (The first block will be the house block. Darling, right?) There are Strawberry Fields Revisited kits available from the Fat Quarter Shop, or you could use fabrics of your choosing and download the PDF pattern each month beginning in February.

How exciting to have such a young quilter doing this with you! I am looking forward to getting started on this QAL as well. Just printed out my first sheet of fabric requirements. Here we go!
I am very excited! Ellie is inspiring! Are you cutting already or just preparing? I need to get going!!! Hope my rotary blade is good and sharp. 😉
Bless Ellie's heart! I'm so glad to see someone her age interested in quilting. Hoping my daughters will do the same!! I will be joining the quilt along and will be squeezing it in between homeschooling and all those other wife and mom duties!! I can't wait!
I can't wait either! I will be watching your progress on IG. Are you also using SFR, or are you using other fabric? I suggested to Ellie that she just keep her own schedule and do what she could when she could. She's such a busy girl!! We'll all have a treasure when we are done!
Well Ellie will be doing what I'll be doing. Ha. I have to squeeze it in whenever I can. I think I'll be using Aloha Girl. I love anything from Fig Tree and Lecien. I'm a huge fan of pretty fabric! 🙂 Waiting 'til next month will be torture! LOL
Oh . . . . I will love seeing it in Aloha Girl! I am slowing working on a project in Aloha Girl as well. It is such pretty fabric!
