New Pattern: Crossing Petals

I\’m happy to share my newest pattern with you today: \”Crossing Petals.\” Red and green is one of my favorite color combinations for any time of year, and I love the farmhouse feeling of this piece.  I think it evokes both a garden and kitchen feel and would make a very cheerful table topper for both spring and summer!

This 20 1/2” x 20 1/2” mini quilt features two lovely red florals and the grass green polka dot from the “Strawberry Fields Revisited” line by Fig Tree & Company for Moda. I also used Moda\’s Cross Weave Sand for the neutral background, which I think really makes the rich Fig Tree fabrics pop.

For the binding, I chose the largest floral from the \”Strawberry Fields Revisited\” line: Strawberry Summer Bouquet.  That might seem like an odd choice.  In fact my plan was to use the tiny red check from the line. But when I was auditioning fabrics for the binding, I just loved the random mix of colors that the large scale print provided as an edging.  It just seemed to tie everything together!

My \”Crossing Petals\” pattern is available on my Etsy Shop.  Thank you to Barb Erickson at Quilts on Broadway for the lovely quilting.

And thank you all for stopping by the blog today!  I hope you will get carried away with “Crossing Petals.\”

Since my original posting, my friend Sylvia created a beautiful version of \”Crossing Petals\” using the lovely \”Farmhouse\” fabrics by Fig Tree & Co.  I have included those pictures below.  🙂
