A few weeks ago the kind folks at Stash Addict Quilts sent me a new Lazy Girl Designs pattern called Tray Chic. Well I had so much fun making one of these trays, I quickly made three more! I\’m so happy to be able to share this fun project idea with you today.
The centers of the finished trays measure approximately 5\” x 5\”, with 2\” sides, making them a great size to hold your sewing notions or those cute office supplies we can\’t live without, like colored paper clips, washi tape and cute magnets! They are so pretty and soft, I think they would also serve as nice jewelry containers! The trays I made will be gifts for some special ladies who work with my husband.
The Lazy Girl pattern instructions are very detailed and easy to follow, and they include many helpful tips and suggestions to ensure a successful project. Once you have one Tray Chic under your belt, you will want to make more! I made the square and circle versions, but there is also a hexagon version in the pattern!
I selected some of my favorite Fig Tree & Company prints for my trays, and used Aurifil 50 wt 2000 (Light Sand) and 2255 (Dark Red Orange) to do the edge stitching. The pattern calls for these supplies: Lazy Girl Fusi-Bond Lite and Stiff Stuff Firm Interfacing. It was my first time using Stiff Stuff, and it is a great product! Here\’s a shot of the underside of the trays so you can see the prints I used.
Last February I made another Lazy Girl Designs pattern given to me by Stash Addict Quilts: the Sweetpea Pods. I filled these with chocolates and mini charm packs and they made really nice gifts!
Now for the exciting news . . . Stash Addict Quilts is generously offering a Tray Chic giveaway on my blog! One lucky winner will receive these supplies to make FOUR trays: the Lazy Girl Designs Tray Chic pattern, (8) 10\” x 10\” squares of fabric by Fig Tree & Company, stabilizer and fusi-bond.
To enter, simply leave a comment below and be sure to include your email address. The giveaway is open to U.S. customers only. (We’re sorry, but the high cost of international shipping is a bugger!) Comments are open through 5:00 pm (CST) on Monday, January 16. At that time, I will do a random drawing and announce the winner. *Only one comment per person/per email address. Email me if you are having trouble leaving a comment and I will leave a comment on your behalf. (carriedawayquilting@gmail.com)
