My third new quilt pattern this year is called Summer Breeze. Colorful pinwheels spin like whirligigs in a warm breeze. Grab your favorite mini charm pack and some coordinating fabrics to create this cheerful scene, all wrapped up by a dancing ribbon.
Summer Breeze finishes at 26 1/2″ square, making it the perfect size for a seasonal wall hanging or kitchen table topper. In my sample I used a mini charm pack of “Aria” by Kate Spain for Moda. I love the saturated colors that Kate uses in her collections.
The ribbon effect is achieved by selecting two greens that are the same color tone, with one being a few shades darker or deeper than the other.
I added mismatched buttons to the centers of my pinwheels, giving each one a little spinning anchor! In these closeup photos you can see the beautiful custom quilting by Nancy Jolene Quilting of Danube, Minnesota. It’s just perfect!

Love the title of this pattern. When I first saw it I started singing \”Summer Breeze\” by Seals and Crofts. \”Summer breeze, makes me feel fine, blowing through the jasmine in my mind\”. Which reminds me, I need to buy your new patterns STAT!!
