In the month of February, we received more snow than we had all winter. In fact, my husband had to run the snow blower on our driveway three times in one week just to get the vehicles out of the garage! So you can just imagine how thrilled I was to open my February Sew Sampler box from Fat Quarter Shop. It’s called Home Sweet Cottage, and it was a ray of sunshine for me!
Here’s a list of the items in the February box:
~ TWO Mama’s Cottage charm packs by April Rosenthal for Moda Fabrics ~
~ “Life’s a Picnic” table runner patternby Lissa Alexander ~
~ Mini Simple Folded Corners Ruler by Doug Leko ~
~ 50 wt Aurifil Sea Biscuit Thread from Aurifil ~
~ 2” Half Square Triangle Paperby Fat Quarter Shop ~
plus COUPONS & SPECIAL OFFERS!
As you know, the Sew Sampler box also includes a basket recipe card designed by Lori Holt of Bee in My Bonnet, and I\’ve been sewing along each month using my stash of Fig Tree fabrics. After I made basket block #11 (blue below), I also re-made my block from month #2. The block I made before was just too pale, and I’m much happier with this one (yellow below).
The upcoming March box will include instructions for the last basket block, and the April box will include the final setting instructions. I am so excited to get to that part!

Isn't this another wonderful box! The fabric alone just brightened my day when it arrived on my doorstep yesterday! Snow, snow go away – come again another day (or year) :)!
It sure was a total day brightener! Hope the weather is turning around for you! We just had two days in the upper 30s low 40s, so the melt is ON! 😉
