It\’s time to announce our 10 PDF pattern winners! But first, I want to thank you all for your enthusiasm for the new charity quilt program designed by LouLou\’s Fabric Shop, Little Lou Quilts, which will provide new, handmade quilts to infants in selected NICUs. What a wonderful idea by the kind folks at LouLou\’s!
This past summer I made a baby quilt using my Next Up pattern and some darling fabrics by Elea Lutz (Riley Blake Designs). I had tucked this quilt away to save for a “someday shower gift” for a friend or family member, but this seemed like the perfect time to send this quilt off with love. I hope it brings joy to a young family!
As promised, 10 of my readers will win their choice of a Carried Away Quilting PDF pattern. Winners were selected randomly from the comments on the previous post. Thank you ALL for playing along! Here are the winners:
Patti G.
Danette
Mona Dickey

Thanks, Taumja. I look forward to using this pattern for the little ones. In the next couple of weeks I will be dropping off 175 pillowcases at Levine Children's Hospital in Charlotte. Our Guild members have been busy sewing away.
Thank you, Taunja! And your quilt will make someone very happy!
This baby quilt is so so adorable. my grand baby #5 is coming any day now, a 3rd child for my youngest daughter who was a preemie, born two months early!!!! a very scary time. It is also hard not to notice the others at the NICU that have a very sick baby and when you are in the room with your baby, you see little pretty cradles and such for parents that lost their baby. at that time, I was sewing some pretty and very tiny lace gowns with sleeves for preemies that do not survive. It is crushing and I know the fear. All of that being said, THANK YOU for reminding us of these little things that are often forgotten, there is pain and sorrow among us. Today I spent the morning \”up the road\” in Leesburg, playing in the SNOW with the grand girls (2 and 4.5) it was barely snowing, nothing sticking but I was totally into the excitement and we collected tiny snow flakes on our mittens and made imaginary snow men and went on pretend sleigh rides. LOL grand babies are so funnyThen I scarfed lunch with them, hugs and kisses good bye and went to my 96 year old daddy and took him to \”Trader's Joe\” for bananas then we went to for a short walk around town and spent some time in the book store sitting and reading their booksWhen I came home, I was SO SURPRISED TO SEE THE EMAIL FROM YOU THAT I WON A PATTERN!!! I am so happpppyyyyy. Thank you so much Taunja
