Pumpkin Run: a denim blue version

Hello quilting friends! In July, I shared my new tablerunner pattern with you: Pumpkin Run. I also admitted to being addicted to making pumpkin quilts.  Well, my issue in that regard continues . . . I’ve made another Pumpkin Run!

What happened is quite simple.  I wasn’t even finished sewing my first Pumpkin Run (featuring black and orange prints), when my mind was already planning a second version where orange would be paired with denim blue. This color combination has a cozy “blue jeans in autumn” feeling, don’t you think?

You may recall last year I made another autumn project based on this blue and orange color combination, my Pumpkin Sky pillow. While blue has always been my favorite color, for many years I didn’t decorate my home with much blue. It feels like I am finally being true to what makes my home heart happy!

But back to Pumpkin Run . . . I deviated from the pattern and went a little scrappy this time, introducing two additional prints for the pumpkins.  Fans of Fig Tree & Company (Moda) will recognize the orange prints in this sample as being from their newest fabric collection, Pumpkins and Blossoms. The text print in particular is so festive!

Look closely at this photo.  The word “quilts” is peeking at you!

Once again, my friend Katy of Woods Edge Quilting performed the awesome machine quilting on my tablerunner. Katy chose a panto called Scottish Plaid, which looks so yummy on the Indigo Chambray fabric.  Thanks Katy!

Pumpkin Run finishes at 34 1/2” long by 12 1/2” wide and is a snap to stitch together. The pattern is available on my Etsy Shop in PDF format. If you make this runner, please be sure to share on Instagram (use the hashtag #pumpkinrunpattern) and also tag me (@taunjalynn). It makes my day to see what you’ve done with my patterns!

  1. I love the combo of the oranges and denim. It’s something I would have never thought of, but looks amazing together.

    1. Thanks Linda! It’s Moda’s Indigo Chambray (#12051 13). It’s my go to blue! 🙂

  2. That looks fabulous! Oh I love that blue. It’s my favorite color as well but wouldn’t have guessed how well it goes with the orange. Beautiful, Taunja!!
