Beachy Stars & Stripes Quilt ready for summer

Hello quilting friends! I’m popping in today to share my finished beachy Stars & Stripes quilt. It will be our couch throw from Memorial Day through Labor Day. I may also display it on our deck this summer if we are having an outdoor gathering. I’m so excited to have my first patriotic quilt!

The Stars & Stripes quilt pattern by Thimble Blossoms is quick and easy ~ definitely something you could whip up in a weekend! My quilt features the blues from Brenda Riddle’s new Sweet Liberty collection. Did you notice the gorgeous backing fabric I used from that collection? It’s heavenly! The red flag stripes are a woven pinky-red from the Merry Little Christmas collection by Thimble Blossoms. I used Moda Bella Solid (White Bleached 9900-98) for the white flag stripes. And for the sashing and outer borders, I used an awesome pebble colored gingham from Brenda Riddle’s The Shores collection.

The lovely wave quilting was done by my go-to machine quilting friend, Katy at Woods Edge Quilting.

Now that I have my flag quilt completed, I really need to quilt my beachy Fat Quarter Flourish table topper I finished last week. The colors in these quilts make my hear sing!

Have a great week! Hope you can find a moment or two to get carried away quilting!

  1. I’m loving this sweet table topper! The color combos you’ve used are just gorgeous. Will you share the “line” of fabric used? It’s positively perfect!

  2. Hi, Taunja. I I’m so glad that I subscribe to your blog. I love your creations. The beachy patriotic quilt is lovely (and I am not even American). It reminds me of a favorite pair of jeans which have been bleached by the sun. Soft, comfy and filled with memories already. Thanks for sharing.

  3. Your patriotic quilt is just perfect! I love the unique combination of fabrics you chose to put together. You will enjoy looking at and using that great quilt!!! ❤️
