Pattern Sale: Happy Valentine’s Day!

It’s the week of Valentine’s Day, so I wanted to share a little love by running a pattern sale on my Etsy shop. All digital patterns will be 20% off and all paper patterns will be 50% off today through the end of February. Thank you so much for supporting my small business, not only through your orders, but also through your encouragement and kind words on my blog, Instagram and Facebook. You are all blessings in my life!

Last weekend I needed an end-of-winter pick me up in my house. We haven’t had a terrible winter in terms of weather and snow accumulation, but I was still feeling that inner longing for spring’s arrival. Sometimes that translates into my desire to run out and buy a pretty new thing for my house (dangerous!).  So instead, I made an afternoon of playing the game “let’s move the quilts around.” I thought I’d share a few pictures just for fun.  It’s amazing what a little presto-chango can do for one’s mood!

First up, I moved my Star Watch quilt (which is usually on the couch near my office) to the quilt ladder in our guest bedroom.  It looks so pretty hanging next to my Buffalo Check Autumn quilt!  (I hide the pumpkins on that quilt and just display the stars until fall rolls around.)

My office sofa looked a little bare, so I moved my Banded Stars quilt from our bedroom to that spot. This was really a no-brainer for another reason. My husband is gutting and redoing our master bathroom, and so our bedroom looks like a construction site.  I keep reminding myself to be patient, that the ongoing mess will be worth the reward.

Then I decided that one corner of our living room needed a bit of color, so I hung my Window Garden (Tilda version) on our quilt storage cabinet.  I tried it two ways: neat and tidy and loosey goosey.  I’m not 100% sold on my display. I think I need to play with it some more.

My mom gave me a pretty little pillow, which I nestled on a bench next to my Journeys quilt. I enjoy this cozy vignette whenever I walk by.

And finally, I rolled up my Very Gingham Valentine quilt and tucked it into a wire basket in my office. I really love pink, but I don’t decorate with it a lot.  I don’t want to push my husband over the edge with too much loveliness.

While I’m here, I do want to remind you about one of my free patterns: He Is Risen. Maybe you would enjoy this project during the weeks that lead toward Easter. I have gifted both versions I have made, so I should add this to my spring sewing list!

Thanks for stopping by! Have a wonderful week and a Happy Valentine’s Day!

  1. You are doing a beautiful job of rearranging, Taunja! I don’t do it often enough, but occasionally I do pull out my quilts and air them out and rearrange a few.
Your ‘He is Risen’ is a table topper on the night table in our guest room. I should make another one too.
Your master bedroom will be worth it when all is done, but I can just imagine the dust till then. It must be exciting though to watch, while you wait for Spring to come.

    1. Thank you Sigi! I hope you are well. I know you are busy and that your sewing needle barely rests! And you are right . . . the dust is never ending, but I know it will be so exciting when it’s done.
