Hello quilting friends! I hope you all are well and enjoying your last days of summer. I can’t believe how the months have flown by! On May 31, I blogged about my first ever crocheted granny square, and since then I’ve been having so much fun with my new hobby! You may remember that I made a crocheted pin cushion in July. I’m popping in today to show you another one I’ve made!
This time it’s an aqua pin cushion! Isn’t she pretty? The color choices on this pin cushion were inspired by a Brenda Riddle fat quarter bundle that I have in my stash.
My quilting friend Ibby adores Brenda Riddle fabric (as do I), so this pin cushion has already been gifted to Ibby for her sewing room. It will be right at home with several other aqua accents she surrounds herself with. Yeah!
If you’d like to make your own crocheted pin cushion, you can find a free tutorial on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube page: “How to Make a Crochet Pincushion with Lori Holt.” For yarn, I used Scheepjes Stone Washed sport weight yarn in the colors shown on my yarn pegs. My crochet hook of choice was a Clover Amour hook, size G 4.0 mm.
Thanks for stopping by! Be sure to carve out some time to get carried away quilting . . . or crocheting if that suits you!

Here’s my earlier pink version, which is happily at home in my sewing room. Pin cushion pals!
