Free pattern} Add In Love

I wonder if you know how much your kind comments and feedback mean to me, both on my blog and in social media. Quilting friends, you encourage me and lift my spirits on a daily basis. It has been on my heart to offer another free pattern, something quick and fun that would bring you joy. So today I’m introducing Add In Love!

This pillow finishes at 16 ½” square. The material requirements are minimal, so you can probably sew from your stash without having to purchase any fabric! For my sample, I sewed completely from pretties in my stash. The taupes that you see are from Brenda Riddle and 3 Sisters (both for Moda). The scalloped border is Robert Kaufman Yarn Dyed Essex Linen (in Flax). The pinky red hearts and binding are Tilda wovens from their Creating Memories Winter collection.

My palette is muted and romantic, but you could also use bright, modern prints for a cheerful look! To be honest, when I was rummaging around in my stash, I went back and forth about which fabrics to use, particularly the pinks. Maybe next year I will sew this pillow again with a different look and feel! I machine quilted this pillow top by doing simple straight-line quilting on a 1 ½” diagonal. Quilting on these small projects can be simple and still have a nice effect.

The PDF pattern for Add In Love is available on my website on the Tutorials & Free Patterns page. I can’t wait to see what you stitch up with this pattern! If you are on Instagram, be sure to tag me using #addinlovepillow so I can see your creations.

Add In Love is a sweet pillow to add to your Valentine’s Day decorating, but you can also make it for any room in your home as a year-long reminder to add in a little love. I hope you enjoy it!

  1. Thank you for this pattern. I’m the lady who bought all of your yellow and white checked fabric. I made two baby quilts using your fabric and I still have some left for another project. I donate baby quilts to our local hospital here in Idaho. Thanks for the fabric and thanks again for this pattern.
