Hello quilting friends! Recently I was invited to do some secret sewing for Fat Quarter Shop, and I’m tickled to share a sneak peek with you today! The talented and busy ladies at Fat Quarter Shop & It’s Sew Emma are releasing Volume 5 of their popular Jolly Bar pattern book series. The book will be released in April, and I’ve made one of their samples.
The quilt I stitched up is called Lollygag. I can’t share too many details with you just yet, but I can tell you that in true It’s Sew Emma fashion, the pattern instructions are well written and easy to follow. (Don’t you just love a pattern that sets you up for success?) In case this term “Jolly Bar” is new to you, a Jolly bar is a precut that is exclusive to Fat Quarter Shop. It is similar to a layer cake, in that it includes 42 pieces from a particular fabric collection, but a Jolly Bar is half the size of a layer cake. Each Jolly Bar measures 5” x 10”.
Fat Quarter Shop carries a beautiful selection of Jolly Bar precuts, for every season and every style! I chose the Honeybloom collection by 3 Sisters. It has been bitterly cold in Minnesota this past month, and just outside my sewing room window I see nothing but snowcover and dormant perennials peeking out. It was a balm to my soul to sew with these soft and pretty floral prints.
The Jolly Bar Volume 5 book releases in April, and I can’t wait to see what all of the other secret sewists have made. We should prepare to be inspired! Follow this link to reserve your copy of the book today.
