Diamond Trail runner for summer

Hello quilting friends! I hope you are doing well and enjoying yourselves as spring gently moves into summer. We’ve been experiencing nice weather, which has allowed us to enjoy time outdoors and tackle those seasonal home and garden chores. This hasn’t left much time for sewing, but I did stitch together a cute summer runner that I wanted to share with you. It’s a blue and green version of my Diamond Trail runner, sewn from scraps in my stash!

Diamond Trail is a 22” x 32 1/2” runner pattern that I released in 2017. The top calls for one charm pack and 3/8 yard of white or neutral. Here is a photo of the original, which featured the Sundrops collection by Corey Yoder.

I’ve made three other versions of Diamond Trail over the years. It’s a quick make and a great way to use up charm packs you may have collected. But as I said, my latest version is made from scraps from my stash . . . most of them left over from my most recent Gumdrops quilt top! Here’s a photo of that quilt top before I sent it off to be quilted.

I love this combination of sky blues and spring greens in my newest Diamond Trail runner. They are so soothing. My prints came from several Moda designers, including Brenda RiddleBunny Hill DesignsMinick & Simpson, My Sew Quilty Life and Corey Yoder.

Diamond Trail is available in PDF format on my Etsy Shop. If you are looking for a quick summer sewing project, I hope you’ll give it a try!

Thanks for stopping by!
