Good Morning fat quarter quilt finish

Hello quilting friends! I hope you are all doing well and finding time to enjoy your favorite hobbies! Last weekend, we experienced a March blizzard. It truly was a “no travel advised, church is cancelled, dangerous wind chills” kind of storm. We hunkered down and I spent some time binding my Good Morning quilt! Here she is in all her glory on my dining room table!

The Good Morning pattern by Camille Roskelley is so much fun to make. The pieces are big, the assembly is easy, and it’s fat quarter friendly – what a winning combination! I finished this top last September while on retreat with friends.

The fabrics in my Good Morning quilt top are a smattering of prints I collected from Art Gallery Fabrics, Moda Fabrics and Fableism. If you love gathering fat quarters and playing with color combinations, this is the pattern for you!

The lovely quilting on my Good Morning quilt was done by Katy at Woods Edge Quilting. I asked Katy to use a Baptist Fan panto, and it came out so lovely. The fans fill the space evenly and in a calming manner.

I recently purchased Ruth Chou Simons beautiful new book, “The Way of the Wildflower,” and I was tickled to see how pretty it looks with our new quilt. Last fall as I was piecing this quilt top, I referred to it as an autumn quilt. But the truth is, I love these colors all year round – they suit me and our home.  And thanks to Ruth’s book, I now see it as a wildflower quilt!

The fat quarters I used in my quilt were purchased over time and from different shops. I think a few of them had been in my stash for several years. If you don’t have a big stash, Fat Quarter Shop has some bundles that would be lovely in a Good Morning quilt. Here are just a few that I think would be great:

Wild Honey by Lella Boutique

Gentler Times by Lori Holt

Love Struck by Kim Diehl

Farmer’s Daughter by Laundry Basket Quilts

Jamestown by Jo Morton

Finally, I have to share the precious wildflower bouquet that my daughter embroidered for me! She certainly knows her momma’s heart and style, doesn’t she?  How blessed I am!

Wishing you all a blessing-filled week ahead! Thanks for stopping by!

  1. I really appreciate that you detail the fabrics used in your quilts and the quilting patter. So very helpful! The wuilt shown is lovely!

  2. Another absolutely stunning quilt! Are the sashings a slightly different color than the background fabric in the blocks? They seem to stand out to highlight the blocks. Lovely.

    1. Thanks Virginia! Yes, I believe they are both from past Brenda Riddle collections, so they coordinate nicely together.

  3. What a lovely quilt! Not a color palette that I would often choose, but as usual you have inspired me to try something new. Thank you.
