Crossroads Quilt Along: the Family Block

I can\’t believe it\’s already the middle of May!  The school year is winding down, we have a son home from college for the summer, and a daughter about to graduate from high school. We also have a niece and nephew graduating from high school. Needless to say it is a very exciting and busy time for our family.  How fitting that the May block for the Crossroads Quilt Along is the Family Block!

I really enjoyed sewing together the Family Blocks.  They were a snap to construct, and it was fun to watch the flying geese units and reverse flying geese units come together to form this pretty block.  I may get a little too sappy here (my impending \”empty nest\” syndrome is to blame), but this block truly represents my little family of four. The Family Block:  four individual points, meeting in the middle, bound together by a nice little frame.  Yep, major sap alert.

My handy dandy Pouch with a View that I shared last month is now stuffed with four more lovely blocks!  (This pattern is available from Three Owls Handmade on Etsy.) I NEED to find the time to make more of these pouches! It was so much fun and is so practical!

If you haven\’t joined the quilt along yet, it\’s not too late.  Visit the Fat Quarter Shop for the details! All proceeds go to a wonderful cause, the March of Dimes.  If you are quilting along, be sure to share your progress and creations on the Crossroads Facebook Group and also on Instagram using the hashtag #crossroadsquiltalong!

Who else is quilting along?
Below is a list of the talented quilters who will be sharing their progress each month on their own blogs.  I hope you\’ll stop by their blogs to see their creations as well!
Thanks for stopping by the blog!  I hope you get carried away quilting often!

Your blocks are lovely of course, and how sweet that you see your family unit in them. Perfect for you!
