Don’t worry, quilting friends . . . I am NOT decorating for Christmas in September! I just wanted to share my most recent finish with you, this cozy “Cabin Fever” quilt, which was a kit I purchased from Sweet Treasures Quilts.
I began cutting and piecing this quilt last winter during a Minnesota snowstorm. It became one of those quilt tops that I worked on sporadically over the next several months, in between other projects that had more immediate deadlines. It surely didn’t need to take me this long to complete this quilt, as the pattern instructions are terrific and the piecing is simple and quick!
This darling pattern was written by Terri Staats, owner of Sweet Treasures Quilts. For her sample and the kits, Terri featured a Moda fabric collection called Wintertide by Janet Clare. There is something so wonderful about the timeless, simple charm of this collection, don’t you agree?
The pretty machine quilting was done by my friend Barb at Quilts on Broadway. We chose a fun motif that resembles swirling winter winds.
I believe Sweet Treasures Quilts quickly sold out of this kit last winter, but the pattern is available as a PDF purchase from their online store. Sweet Treasures Quilts has a wonderful selection of other Christmas kits that you may want to check out. I do like choosing my own fabrics for my projects, but I also am thrilled when someone else does the work for me. And Terri has a marvelous eye for fabric selection!
My Cabin Fever quilt is destined to be a gift, but I will be honest . . . I’m having a hard time letting it go. It looks right at home in our family room.

Do you know which fabrics were used for the cream border 2 and for your binding? They look different than shown on the pattern. I particularly love the little red checked border. You did such a beautiful job on this!
