Bloomington bundle giveaway with LouLou’s Fabric Shop

GIVEAWAY CLOSED
Last weekend I had a play date with myself in my sewing room. I pulled out my stash of Lella Boutique fabrics and admired some of my favorite prints. I rifled through my pattern basket for project ideas. I didn’t have a plan, but I felt compelled to create. For me that is the true joy of sewing. Turning myself over to the process, letting the outside world fall away, becoming happily focused on something basic and beautiful.
So today I\’m sharing a little peek at what I was up to. Mostly I just cut some fabric and made a few test blocks, but it was a happy time in the sewing room! I settled in on the following fabrics, all from Moda, for my next project:
  • Six prints from Harvest Road (Lella Boutique)
  • Two prints from Farmer’s Daughter (Lella Boutique): the taupe gingham and the cream text print
  • One print from Sweet Tea (Sweetwater): the navy text print
  • Indigo Chambray (Moda 12051 13) which will likely be my background fabric

While making some simple hourglass blocks, I was delighted to see where the “love” showed up ~ all on its own without me forcing it to happen. I guess there are life lessons in sewing!

LouLou’s Fabric Shop and I would like to share the sewing love with you today by hosting a giveaway! Those sweet folks at LouLou’s are offering this gorgeous fat quarter bundle of Lella Boutique’s newest collection, Bloomington, to one of my lucky readers! We hope you’ll feel inspired to create!

I’ll be back to share more progress on my project.  In the meantime, stay safe and get carried away quilting!

  5. Thank you for the giveaway. What a fun project, during this time of quarantine. I was digging my through stash last weekend to get more material for sewing masks. I found some prints that I had completely forgotten about. It was almost like Christmas! My email is goldwingshari@gmail.com.

  6. I’ve been doing a bit of simple sewing myself lately using Harvest Road. It’s the basis for our new color palette on our bedroom and I adore how the blues and greens look against a gray background. I love Lella Boutique lines. Eamylove@aol.com

  9. I love how you come up with your fabrics. I am originally a wood worker – been self teaching to sew for the last few years. I think my biggest problem is over thinking fabric combinations. I have a lot to learn on that. Watching and reading your's as well as others blogs – am learning a lot – just have to get the confidence in putting it all together. Thanks for sharing your work. deanbren87@gmail.com

  17. I love picking out fabric. It's the pattern and idea that always confuse me! So many ideas it's always hard to choose. I would never had thought to use the denim looking fabric as a background but it sure looks beautiful with it! Love a script fabric. You always inspire me and I always go back and look at your quilts for inspiration. Love your patterns! cas2156@aol.com
