This past weekend, I enjoyed time outdoors in the sunshine with my family. The weather was nice enough to complete some spring yard work and talk to the neighbors . . . from a safe social distance of course. I also found just enough time at the sewing machine to finish my quilt top for The Kindness Project.
If you had time to read my earlier posts, you\’ll know that The Kindness Project was a mystery quilt sew-along hosted by Sweet Treasures Quilts. The goal was to sew a quilt to gift to someone affected by the COVID-19 outbreak or someone who has served as a hero during this time.
I haven’t decided who my recipient will be yet, but I look forward to brightening someone’s day with this quilt. Now I just have to decide if I’ll quilt it myself or send it off to be quilted.
My progress (and finish) this past weekend followed the Day 4 & 5 instructions from Terri, the shop owner of Sweet Treasures Quilts. I’ve included Terri’s instructions at the bottom of this post.
If you didn’t sew along with us, that is just fine. All of the instructions are free from Sweet Treasures Quilts, and you could sew on a schedule that works for you! All of the information (fabric selection, fabric requirements, block instructions) for this mystery sew along is available through social media on the Sweet Treasures Facebook page and the Sweet Treasures Instagram feed.

Oh Taunja, your quilt top is so pretty, I love the fabrics you used, Amazing and lovely. I love this pattern I wish I was sewing along, but I will save it. This is so very generous of Terri to create and share this pattern!!!!
Such a pretty quilt, Taunja! Love the stars inbetween. Loved seeing the progress everyone made.
that quilt sure turned out so beautiful!! I love the blues of the Nest line (it is from that line, isn't it?)I've been busy sewing masks and trying out different mask patterns, so I didn't do this quilt, but now that I see it done, It sure is tempting me! 🙂 Hugs, and stay well!

Thanks so much, Rosemary! Yes, Terri is a gem!
I'm enjoying that too! They are all turning out so different. It's quite fun to see!
Yes it's Nest mostly. Such pretty fabric! I hope you stay well too. Good for you on the mask making. I only made about 15 of them. Seems much trickier than quilt making to me! 😉
