New mini pattern: Paddle On!

Calling all my lake loving, nautical decorating friends . . . I have a new mini quilt pattern to share with you today, Paddle On!

This cute mini finishes at 21” x 13” and is a great scrap buster. Just pull bits and pieces of your favorite blues, tans and creams from your stash and you can complete this project in no time.

Here are the fabric requirements:

  • White (background):  1/4 yard
  • Tan (paddle): 1/4 yard
  • Various scraps of tans, blues, whites (or colors of choice): to yield 1/4 yard
  • Binding: 1/4 yard
  • Backing: 5/8 yard

I probably could have machine quilted Paddle On myself. It’s small enough to handle on my domestic machine and lends itself to simple, straight-line quilting.  But my friend Katy at Woods Edge Quilting suggested a soft wave pattern called “Good Vibrations,” so I sent it off to her for this sweet finishing touch. I’m so glad I did!

Now the tough decision . . . do I hang this up, use it as a table runner, or give it to my mom?  (She’s been hinting.)  I guess I’ll just have to make another one!

Paddle On is available as a digital PDF pattern on my Etsy Shop. I would love to see what you come up with. If you’re on Instagram, be sure to post your version of Paddle On, tag me (@taunjalynn) and use the hashtag, #paddleonpattern

Hugs and thanks to my Instagram friend Denny, another Minnesota lake girl, who tested this pattern for me.  Thank you so much, Denny!

Thanks for stopping by today. I hope you are all well and happy.  My parting thought for today: Even when our seas get stormy, quilting friends, let’s keep the faith and paddle on!
