Pattern Sale at Carried Away Quilting!

Hello quilting friends! We are facing winter storm warnings in the week ahead, according to the weatherman. It’s only February, so I guess this cruel weather pattern is to be expected in Minnesota.  But I am really looking forward to springtime. I have had enough of icy roads, mounds of snow, and bitter winds.  Bah Humbug!

In case you are also experiencing the late winter blues and need a quilty pick-me-up, I am running a sale on my Etsy Shop through the end of February:  all paper and PDF patterns 25% off!

After the Christmas and New Year holidays, I always feel a little restless waiting for spring. My husband and I have been working on some home improvement projects, and I have done a little sewing. I’ve also been moving quilts around the house just for fun.  Here are a few pictures from the last month or so. While I may be combating the winter blues, I really adore the color blue.

I have missed connecting with you all. I look forward to sharing new patterns with you later this spring. Wherever you are, I hope you are well and enjoying your season (both the weather cycle and life).  Thanks for stopping by! Take care and get carried away quilting!

  1. Hi there. I am also in Minnesota awaiting the snowstorm. We are in Buffalo so looks like we could get 1-2” tomorrow and then 6-12 the rest of the week. I love the snowfalls especially the big ones, but I know they are messy and sometimes dangerous. Prayers that everyone stays safe! Love your patterns and quilts and will check out your Etsy store. Thanks for the discount and stay warm and safe!!

    1. Hi Julie! You know, I really don’t mind the big snows either . . . in the first part of winter. There is something good about being snugly snowed in at home with your family, sewing or watching movies while the outside gets blanketed in white. 🙂 You’ve given me a reminder to look at the beauty of it this morning. Hope you and yours stay safe also during this next band of winter weather! Thanks so much for your kind words!

  2. Ice storm to come here this coming week, but hoping it will pass us by :)! Stay safe Taunja, and thank you for cheering everyone up with your post. So many lovely pictures of your beautiful quilts and decor.

    1. Hello friend! A message from you always brings cheer . . . and reminds me of the blessing you are to so many others through your quilting. You’re a good example for us all Sigi, and I love it when you pop in to say hi. Thank you!

  3. I love all the photos of your quilts all over the house. It looks so cozy. Thanks for the sale. Just one more month and we’ll probably see some daffodils, so hang in there. I’m in the middle of a house move myself. I feel so out of sorts when I can’t have my sewing machine humming along. I have my fabric all boxed up so I can’t even see it to put my hands on it. Better days are coming….

I’m in the path of that storm also. We’re right on the line where we will either get snow or rain here in the Chicago suburbs. I hope it’s rain. I’ve had enough snow.

    1. Oh Maxine! Been there and I empathize with you. Moving is not for the faint of heart. But yes, better days are coming and you will soon be able to pet your fabric and get that machine whirring. Take care and best wishes to you on the move. One day (and box) at a time!
