In 2021 I released a pattern called Spruce Lane, a table topper with a modern farmhouse vibe. Spruce Lane featured a palette of green, black, grey and white, which is a pleasing color combination any time of year. My sister-in-law loved it, so I gifted it to her. Ever since then, I’ve been meaning to make another one for myself. Instead, you might say I got a little carried away quilting . . . and designed a new pattern with the same color scheme. Introducing Nestled!
A primitive style house is surrounded (nestled!) by a simple wreath, which is further accented by charcoal/black half square triangles and a border. It’s a fairly clean and simple design, but I think it has a lot of visual appeal.
Nestled finishes at 22 ½” square, so it could be a wall hanging or a table topper. We have a front entry room in our house that (right now) isn’t very pretty. I think Nestled will be my inspiration for painting and decorating that room so that it is very inviting when guests come to visit. I could display my Nestled quilt with farmhouse signs, a little bench and some plants. Doesn’t that sound like a great end-of-winter project for me . . . and my husband? (He may or may not be aware of this plan.)
Because I was so anxious to finish my Nestled wall hanging, I quilted it myself. I must say, I’m actually pleased with how it turned out. I did simple straight-line quilting, but on a 60-degree angle, which feels unexpected and fun.
One of my favorite things about small projects is that the fabric requirements are minimal. Nestled is probably a pattern you can sew from your stash!

UPDATE:
One of my readers asked for the fabric list that I used. It’s a mix of old prints from my stash and upcoming prints, all from Moda designers. Here’s the list:
- Two of the greens (medium and dark) are from the upcoming On Dasher collection by Sweetwater.
- The light green is from Red Barn Christmas by Sweetwater
- The binding and house are from Midnight Magic 2 by April Rosenthal
- The corner HSTs and chimney are from from Low Volume Wovens by Jen Kingwell.

So cute!
Thanks so much Deanna!
Do you have a name for the fabrics used in “Nestled”?
