Coffee Time Quilt for Halloween

Blog update: please check out the new Coffee Time Quilt for Christmas too!

Have you seen the darling Spooky Delight fabric by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda Fabrics? This Halloween collection includes spunky black cats, hoot owls and cute mice, along with petite pumpkins and coordinating prints. The color range includes a softer orange with a hint of apricot, purple, green, black and a sophisticated gray that grounds all of the other colors.

Lou Lou’s Fabric Shop was kind enough to send me some Spooky Delight, and I had a great time making up a Coffee Time Quilt for Halloween! Thanks so much, Lou Lou’s Fabric Shop!
My Coffee Time Quilt is a free tutorial on my blog. It is a very quick and easy project.  In fact, you could probably piece, quilt, and bind the whole thing in a day! The finished quilt measures 18 1/2″ x 18 1/2″, making it a nice size for setting out a dish of cookies to serve with coffee, or a bowl of Halloween treats!
This print with the tiny dots and squiggles makes a perfect binding fabric. And did you happen to spy the black cat below sporting orange spectacles? The little details in this collection are just too fun! I did simple straight line quilting using Aurifil 2214 (Golden Honey) 50wt. It’s a nice soft golden orange that blends perfectly with this fabric.

If you would like to make a Coffee Time Quilt for Halloween, Lou Lou’s Fabric Shop is offering a fabric kit!
