Back in 2019, I released 9-Patch Pivot, a fat quarter pattern with a “unified scrappy” appeal. The pattern calls for 21 fat quarters to create the quilt’s 42 blocks. Each print is represented in the quilt twice (in the dominant block pieces) and numerous times in the 9-patches. It is scrappy and visually interesting, but with enough continuity to be unified.
I truly love this pattern (I’ve made it twice), and I’ve been waiting to stitch it up in holiday fabrics. The new Christmas Eve collection by Lella Boutique seemed like the perfect choice. I’ve sewn a few blocks to show you how pretty this quilt will be, and I’m happy to announce that I have a limited number of KITS available on my Etsy shop. Here’s a peek at my first few blocks.
I have two versions of the kits available: Kit A (with the red binding) and Kit B (with the gray/silver binding). The kits include everything you need to make the top, plus binding and a paper pattern. (Backing fabric sold separately.)
Also on my Etsy shop, I have the following prints available to order by the half yard, in case you would like to order backing fabric. 9-Patch Pivot calls for 5 yards of backing fabric.
Here are some photos of the other versions of 9-Patch Pivot that I have made in the past. As you can see, this is a very versatile pattern!

As most of you know, I’m primarily a digital pattern shop. But occasionally I am able to offer kits and it makes my day, because I know how we all love kits! And we all love Lella Boutique fabric, so this seemed like a no brainer for me!
I’ll continue to share progress photos of my 9-Patch Pivot Christmas quilt. I have a feeling it’s going to be extra special. Thanks for stopping by the blog!
